REST API Demo Plugin (plugins/restapi_demo_plugin/):
- demo_server.py: FastAPI server on port 8765 (localhost only), endpoints: GET /health, GET /project/report, GET /controls/report — Path traversal protection via os.path.realpath() + whitelist
- api_client.py: HTTP client only with urllib (no external dependencies), Regex check: only http://localhost: and http://127.0.0.1: allowed
- restapi_gui.py: PySide6 tab with QThread worker for non-blocking requests, QTableWidget for results, shiboken6.isValid() checks
- plugin.py: Full plugin lifecycle with server management

Grundschutz++ expects all documents in native OSCAL format. But do you know whether your ISMS/GRC tool natively supports the OSCAL format? If not: There is an alternative - look at mjEdit.

For those interested

The good news: If usual practice is maintained, you probably have until 2028 to migrate your ISMS to Grundschutz++.

The challenge: Time passes quickly, especially when new tooling is needed, because the manufacturer of your previous GRC tool cannot clearly say when all OSCAL document types will actually be fully supported and the entire process can be mapped consistently.

mjEdit is currently in the final phase of alpha testing. The core functionality - OSCAL document editing, AI integration via MCP and the modular plugin system - is so far stable and has been offered to external testers for testing mjEdit in a closed group of VIP testers for a few days.

Next step: Extended beta test with GRC focus
